Dear Begin,
I fought many times in the battles and I learned “one” very important thing. The war is cruel; it only brings disasters and sadness. We must prevent the war by any means. I know it because I led Israeli force in the invasion of the Sinai Peninsula destroying the Epytian military forces as a commander in chief; I was a minister of defense in 1967 Six-Day war. As result, I certainly know that what we want is not a war, not tensions; what we want is a peace, the peace that will prevent the war. Peace would make everyone happy and satisfied.

Currently, and also unfortunately, we are in the tension between the Palestine and us (Israel). One of the main reasons for this tension is because of the settlements in the West Bank and the lack of peace talking with Palestinians. We were falling out about the building of settlements in the West Bank in the other day, and I still strongly think that we should give up the West Bank to Palestine and continue the negotiation. So I beg your pardon to reconsider the choice you had made last time. It is not too late. Giving up the West Bank will bring good negotiations and peace. Please decide wisely Mr. Begin.

I will see you at the foreign affair meeting next Tuesday,
Sincerely
Your minister of foreign affairs, Moshe Dayan
